boston nice and comfortable at 73, buffalo 71, but what i'm showing are the high temperatures today. i want you to see oh, my, there is a lot of heat still in the country, a lot of this record breaking heat including denver at 105 degrees at the airport. that ties for the all time hottest temperature in denver and it certainly is a new record for the month of june. 105 in wichita. most of these are records, 104 in dallas, 105 little rock, 90 st. louis, but the core of this heat is back in the east coast in the upper 90s again by the end of the week. so enjoy what we have over the next 48 hours. here's the temperature trend. we'll be below average tomorrow, 87 afternoon. we're going for 81 degrees. wednesday about 85 degrees, thursday 92 and here comes the hot stuff again, friday 96 and saturday probably 98 or 99 degrees. so contrast that to what you're seeing out here tonight. it's in the 60s in a lot of spots especially off to our west. you could be headed for the 40s in the mountains accident 73 for the district, very comfortable night. we'll continue to -- mountains, 73 for the di

boston probably one of the cooler spots across the country today. things have changed up a bit tomorrow, still mild and probably not 80s, but some showers and storms are going to be in the forecast for us friday. not an all day washout, some hit or miss showers in the morning and maybe son thunderstorms in the afternoon. weekend -- some thunderstorms in the afternoon. weekend looks a little bit better. weekend forecast is pretty much predicated on this front tomorrow getting south of us for saturday. right now it looks good for that and so our st. patrick's day should feature makes of sun and clouds, temperature 74, spotty shower, i can't 100% say that wouldn't happen but not a deluge. sunday a little cooler, maybe some 60s for high temperatures, but it should be a nice bright day. i think when it comes to the weekend, we're looking really good. notice the overnight temperatures in the 50s as it will be tonight. that's why the cherry blossoms are forecast to come out so early this year. 59 degrees in d.c. now. it feels chilly when you head out. it's

boston is 47. all the way down into the carolinas, they are holding on to 50s and 60s down there. heaviest of the rain has stayed to the south. there were big thunderstorms down in the deep south this afternoon, severe weather reported there. in another place we had severe weather was up here into western sections of pennsylvania. right out ahead of this front. look at these thunderstorms. they were very strong for a time today. they have died out quite a bit now. of course with the setting sun, temperatures are a lot cooler. all the cold air, there's snow coming in behind this cold front. a will the of this coming off the lakes. lake're lake erie is going to prove to be decent snow over the next 12 to 18 hours or so. we could get a little bit of light snow for the higher elevations. once this cold front really comes on through and the colder air begins to trickle on in. breezy overnight tonight. once the flood gets here, the temperatures will start dropping. it's going to take a while. i suspect it's going to take until 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning to get our temperature down to 3

the high temperature in boston tonight of 28. we were 34 degrees, among the coldest spots in the nation and earlier today we started on such a cold note, down to 17 degrees in the district, 7 degrees in winchester, very cold temperatures all the way down to florida, but let the rebound begin, 52 st. louis. we will see our temperatures get to the 50s very soon, 58 wichita, 61 the high in dallas. so the warmer stuff relatively speaking is coming back. this was kind of a temporary drag back down into winter scenario for us. it's 35 degrees now in the district. you've come up 2 degrees in winchester to 25. we'll hold with that 27 foryou overnight. up and down you go, but the trend is on the upside here and on the other side of the mountains we're not finding the cold air we saw last night. there it goes, one cool night, then mild stuff tomorrow, still only in the 40s, but the 50s and maybe mid-50s for friday and probably saturday as well. our next showers look like they will be monday. your weekend forecast looks like this, saturday
